Ischia Sea Casting enchants Salerno: a stunning performance at the Third "City of Salerno" Surfcasting Trophy.

It was a memorable evening for ASD Ischia Sea Casting, the undisputed star of the Third "City of Salerno" Surfcasting Trophy, held Saturday along the picturesque Salerno coastline. Organized with the usual care by ASD Mareggiata, the trophy attracted hundreds of enthusiasts, with 100 competing pits and 200 athletes from across Campania and southern Italy, for a challenge that combined sport, passion, and excellent technique.

The island association, led by President Mario Coppola, tackled the challenge with four fierce pairs of sport fishermen, deploying all the experience and dedication that have distinguished them in the national surfcasting scene for years. And the results were quick to arrive, with a concerted performance that confirmed the quality of the sporting project being pursued on the island.
The pair of Giosuè Coppola and Vitantonio Iacono stood out, taking fourth place overall with a surprising intensity and consistency. A placing that, as the president himself stated, "wasn't entirely unexpected, but certainly surprising given the exceptional quality of the athletes competing." These words reflect not only the satisfaction with the result, but also the awareness of consistent and methodical growth, the fruit of meticulous and collaborative work.
Behind them, further enhancing the team's performance, the other teams also excelled. Valerio Vigorito and Mirko Calise secured second place in their section, the result of a determined and precise competition. Vito Mutri and Francesco Filogamo also performed well, finishing eighth with a solid and consistent performance, as did Pietro Orefice and Vito Spinelli, who also excelled in a highly selective competition. Also noteworthy was the excellent seventh-place finish by father-and-son duo Nicolas and Dimitri Olefirenko, whose harmony and dedication thrilled and won over the audience and judges.

"Ischia Sea Casting never stops," commented President Coppola, visibly satisfied, at the end of the event, proudly reiterating the association's desire to continue growing and representing the island of Ischia with dignity and passion at every sporting event.
The Salerno Trophy was not only an important competitive showcase, but also concrete proof of the value of a close-knit and determined team, capable of competing against more structured teams and emerging through passion, dedication, and technical expertise. This result serves as a testament to our respect and a stimulus for new challenges, on a path that for Ischia Sea Casting now seems set toward increasingly ambitious goals.
